The use of creativity in therapy has tremendous benefit for client and therapist alike: accessing the right brain can lead to new insight and creative solutions to old problems, role play and embodiment can help a client rehearse new behaviors, encouraging imagery, symbolism, metaphor and movement in therapy can spur clients into action and nudge a therapist out of a rut.

Act II
More drama and the creative arts in individual therapy
This class builds on the methods and skills learned in An Audience of One: Act I. Participants will learn more drama therapy techniques to augment and deepen their clinical work. An Audience of One: Act I is a prerequisite to this class.
Come add some more therapeutic tools to your repertoire and spark your own creativity while you're at it!
Some topics to be covered during this second course include:
· Using active techniques to expand and contain emotional expression
· Uncovering your client's internal "cast of characters"
· Working with resistance and creative blocks

Learn to use drama therapy and the arts in group work
Facilitating groups can be some of the most rewarding and the most challenging work we do. Whether the group is didactic in nature or is process-oriented, the facilitator must be adept at managing group dynamics and keeping the group engaged. Introducing creative and active techniques can quickly build cohesion, keep a group motivated, and help address interpersonal dynamics.
